Libeccio

Realization of the two flights of steps placed on the side of the altar of Sant'Alessandro is part of the preservative restoration works of the Antonellian Scurolo (1841-50), in Fontaneto d'Agogna, executed in 2014, under supervision of the Soprintendenza ai Beni Architettonici of Piedmont.

These are two mixtilinear sculptural elements embracing the altar and leading visitors to the level where they can enjoy the saint’s shrine, with a succession of low rises and metal sheet riveted sides which upper edge curling confers a tri-dimensional effect. The waxed rust-effect finish mitigates the insertion of a metal element in a space dominated by marble, stuccoes and wood elements.

The hand-forged iron rail parapet is a precious detail reflecting at best the craftsmanship component and creative inspiration, Franco Bonetti and Officine del Ferro’s signature elements.
